Doorway to....
The students designed their own doorway with a measured parallel
door frame, perhaps with 3d stairs and their own variety of colored pencil techniques.  Blending colors, overlapping colors, variety of marks as well as a variety of textures were all stressed during this involved assignment.  Once the drawing part was completed students wrote about where the doorway led to.  The completed projects are on display at the school and at the Telluride Post Office.

Our next assignment we will study a painting by Marc Chagall called I and the Village.  The students will discuss the meaning of the painting and what
Chagall was trying to communicate to the viewer. They will then use some of Chagall's compositions techniques to convey their own story about them selves and a animal they feel a closeness to.
We will be using oil pastels.
